Okay.

Okay, I guess I have my answer. Thank you for giving this blog a chance. That's really all I could ever ask of you. I might post here occasionally, but right now, it doesn't look like I'll post much. I'm sorry this blog was not good and that you wasted your time on me. Hey, maybe one day I'll finally learn to be good at something, right? :) Anyway, enough with my pity party. Thanks again, and I hope you all have wonderful, happy lives.

Can I ask a favor?

I've been writing this blog for a bit now, I've posted numerous times. I shamelessly promoted at first, but then decided to stop since I wanted to make sure people were coming back, not just visiting once and forgetting about me. Well, people are. The thing is this though:
I have no blog followers even though people come here more than once. I don't have any comments. Sometimes it feels like I'm just writing for myself. I started this blog knowing it would take a bit to get a lot of followers and comments. I want to get the posts out in a timely manner, but if I'm only writing for myself, then why should I worry about it?
I was wondering if you could do me a favor. If you're reading this, comment? Tell me what you think about the blog and please be honest. Tell me how many times you've been to my blog. Just let me know that someone is actually reading what I'm saying. If no one comments...then yes, the blog will stay, but I won't post often. I'll post when I feel like it, not every day and numerous times a day. I just wanna know that someone out there cares what I have to say.
Thanks. I know I seem stupid and obnoxious, but can you really blame me? If you comment or follow me or even if you're just reading this, thank you so much. I already failed at beauty vlogging, I don't wanna fail at beauty blogging.
xoxo,
Hannah

I'm sorry...

Hey guys, I know I promised the rest of the Tarte review tonight, but I've got a terrible migraine and I just can't :( Also, I will be doing a review in the next few days on a haul, which includes two OPI polishes, a Wet N Wild polish, and a Clinique lipstick. Please keep checking back here for those. Thanks so much and I'm sorry I don't have the rest of the review as promised.

Tarte Review and Swatches! Part One :)

GREETINGS! Your resident beauty blogger is looking hot for it being 12 hours since makeup application and some tears!

So if you read yesterday's post, you'll see that I purchased Tarte's Beauty Resolutions kit from Ulta. It costs $29.00 and you getis
-1 full size Amazonian Clay skinny smolderEYES liner in slate (looks black on, but is a dusty grey color)
-1 full size beauty & the box Amazonian Clay eyeshadow quad. The shades are sky dive, love more, recycle, and 5k.
-1 deluxe sample of multiplEYE lash primer
-1 deluxe sample of lights, camera, lashes! mascara

LINER REVIEW:
THIS LINER IS MARVELOUS. Before we begin the review, lets look at Tarte's claims for the eyeliner. The site says it's just a "skinny version of the regular liner, so these claims work for the original "big" version. The link for this is here, but it's for the original. Here is the link for the actual product we're reviewing!
CLAIMS:
-Smooth, rich color definition
-Nourish lids
-Reduce oil
-Wide range of shades to choose from
(Polish is Butter London's Jack the Lad (application and color review coming later tonight)
Can I just say that the packaging of this liner is beautiful! The end you see is the smudger end. Here is the actual product!
It looks black, honestly. I think it looks black during and after application, too, even though it's supposed to be grey. HOWEVER, I wasn't necessarily looking for a black, so that doesn't affect me too much. Here are a few swatches :)

I placed medium pressure on the pencil.
I smudged this out, and used five or six medium pressure strokes.
I worked on this for a few minutes with the smudger. Obviously this isn't going ANYWHERE!
This is 13 hours after application! Talk about staying power!

So my opinion on this liner is:
This sucker is waterproof! I had a swatch of this on my hand and took a shower, and I still faintly see it. Also, If you look closely (so closely that the camera won't pick up!), there is a slight shimmer to this product, which looks nice on the eyes. This product is very creamy, which is nice, but I feel like after awhile, the pencil might break. I've only had this for two days, so I'm not sure about that yet. The smudger is sturdy and doesn't seem likely to fall out or break.
FINAL VERDICT: Obviously I'm in love with this, so this is a YES!

THE BOX OF SHADOWS REVIEW:
Let me start this by saying that the box I have is not available on www.tartecosmetics.com. You can only buy this box in the kit, which you can find on Ulta.com.
CLAIMS:
-Blendable color
-Highly pigmented
Let me start off my saying that these are GORGEOUS colors. However, once I swatched them, I was a little disappointed.
I was SO upset. Honestly. These retail for $22.00 here, but it's JUST NOT WORTH IT. This is honestly worse quality than ELF shadows, which I've reviewed, and they were $1.00! This has four shadows in it, costing you $5.50 each...Now, keep in mind with these swatches, I did three medium pressures strokes. You can't even see the lightest color, Sky Dive, and you can barely see the next color, Love More. I was beyond upset.
However, these are pretty even if they only give a light wash of color. I'd recommend these for younger girls or girls who don't need/want too much color. For most of us, this would be a worthless product.
This is after 13 hours of wear, WITH primer. I used Stila's Caramel Smudge Pot.
FINAL VERDICT: I want to love this so bad, and I'll probably use this one days when I don't want lots of color. For most days though, this is a NO!

THE REST OF MY REVIEW WILL BE UP TOMORROW. I'M SLEEPY :( THIS IS ME AND MY CAT, MISTER KITTY.

How To: Buy High End Products on a Low End budget

I am a 16 year old girl who makes at most, $40 a week. Therefore, it's important for me to get the most bang for my buck. I've picked up a few tips and tricks here and there, so now I'm sharing them with you. I hope these help :)

TIP NUMBER ONE: URBAN DECAY SALE ITEMS
Urban Decay is probably my favorite makeup brand, and they also have the best sales! Currently, their deluxe eyeshadows are $8.00 (originally $18.00), The Deluxe Shadow Box (Nine shadows plus a mini primer) is $19.00 (originally $38.00), their Vintage Eyeshadows (I bought four! Dashiki, YDK, Last Call, and Minx) are $6.00 (originally $17.00), and one Glide-On Lip Pencil is $9.00 (originally $19.00) Previously, I also bought a full size Vintage Big Fatty Mascara for $5.00, too!

TIP NUMBER TWO: BUY DRUGSTORE FROM ULTA.COM
Ulta.com ALWAYS has a drugstore sale going on! Right now, it's BOGO 1/2 off of Maybelline, L'Oreal, and Garnier! They also have an infinite sale page! There are ten pages of sale items, and I will warn you that they are 70-75% ULTA brand products, so if you don't like buying those, then this isn't always going to work for you. However, here are some examples of the amazing savings you'd get! Napoleon Perdis Lash Patrol Strip #68 is $7.20 (original price $9.00), Clinique Happy Heart Body Wash is $26.00 (originally $30.00), and the Physicians Formula Aging Intensive Wrinkle Corrector Eye Cream is $9.99 (originally $19.99)

TIP NUMBER THREE: DO THE MATH
This tip is mainly for if you're making a big purchase, like the Naked Palette. Use simple math to decide if it's worth it or not. The Naked Palette is $50.00. There are 12 shadows in the palette, as well as a deluxe sample bonus gift, and a brush. A regular sized Urban Decay shadow is $18.00. 18 times 12 (the number of shadows) is $216. Therefore, the Naked Palette is over quadruple savings, not counting the brush and the deluxe sample!

I hope this post has helped you. I'll be posting again tonight, and it's one I think you'll enjoy. If you like buying inexpensive brushes that are great quality, stay tuned tonight :)

My Name is Hannah and I Have a Shopping Addiction! :)

I may or may not have spent upwards of $100 of my father's money today. Okay. I did. But it was worth it! He bought me a few things that I'm so excited to review and test out for you guys! :)

PRODUCT NUMBER ONE- BUTTER LONDON NAIL LACQUER IN JACK THE LAD- $14.00
I actually received this as a super late Christmas present from my father. I had originally asked for Toff, but I saw this online and decided I liked it better :) The color is a dark, almost forest green color with silver, gold, and blue glitter. The glitter is very finely milled, which is my personal preference. I cannot wait to try this out!

PRODUCT NUMBER TWO- NAIL POLISH REMOVER PADS IN VANILLA- $2.00
I had high hopes for this. The pads are small and I thought that this would be good if I'm in a hurry to paint my nails or if I need to fix some mistakes. I was wrong! These are thin, greasy sheets of cotton that don't take the polish off at all. I might be able to use this to get polish off of my skin, but otherwise, this was a complete waste of $2.00.

PRODUCT THREE- BENEFIT HELLO FLAWLESS OXYGEN WOW BRIGHTENING MAKEUP IN "I'M PURE 4 SURE" IVORY- $34.00
I have been wanting this since it first came out. It's been on the top of my foundation wishlist and with the news that CoverGirl is DISCONTINUING it's NatureLuxe line, I knew I had to pick this up to try and see if I loved it. I tried some on the back of my hand in Ulta, and was pleased with the feel and the coverage. I'm going to try this tonight when I go to work to see how this holds up to running around and chasing kids :p

PRODUCT THREE- ITEM ONE IN EYE KIT: TARTE SKINNY SMOLDEREYES IN SLATE- (KIT PRICE)- $29.00 (FULL SIZE)
Allow me to explain this, okay? I found a kit from Tarte called "Beauty Resolutions" that was $29.00. It has two full size products and two deluxe minis. This is one of the full size products. I purchased this around 12 pm-ish. I swatched it on my hand, and as of now (4:38 pm), It hasn't budged! I hope this works just as well on my eyes!

PRODUCT FOUR- ITEM TWO IN EYE KIT: TARTE BEAUTY AND THE BOX QUAD-(KIT PRICE)-$29.00 (FULL SIZE)
Right to left: Sky Dive, Love More, Recycle, 5k. Now, this is the second full sized product. This sealed the deal for me. The colors are muted and swatch pretty well (all swatches and full reviews will be in tomorrow or Mondays post). Recycle and 5k are beautiful! Also, the packaging is amazing!

PRODUCT FIVE- ITEM THREE IN EYE KIT: TARTE MULTIPLEYE LASH PRIMER-(KIT PRICE)- $29.00 (DELUXE SAMPLE)
I am SO excited about this. I have needed a lash primer for months, ever since I got the Urban Decay Big Fatty Mascara (it's got crazy fallout!). The sample is big enough for four or five uses, which is just enough to know whether you need to purchase the product or not!

PRODUCT SIX- ITEM FOUR IN EYE KIT: TARTE LIGHTS, CAMERA, LASHES! MASCARA-(KIT PRICE)- $29.00 (DELUXE SAMPLE)
Now, I really didn't need a new mascara, since I have three, but I thought: "Hey, if you find out you love it, then yay!" So here we go! The only thing I'm worried about is that it seems like a wetter formula that what I like. We'll see though :)

Check back tomorrow or Monday for swatches, more pictures, and full reviews on each product :)

ELF Review :)

So I've been into ELF products for a while. My mom uses them more than I do but I own three of their products, and mom gave me a build your own quad from them, so I have four :) I want to review three items: their Tinted Moisturizer, their Translucent Mattifying Powder, and their eyeshadows.

PRODUCT NUMBER ONE: ELF TINTED MOISTURIZER IN PORCELAIN-$3.00

(Sorry for the bad picture!) As you can (maybe) see, this has an SPF of 20, which is wonderful! It also claims to have Aloe, Cucumber, and Vitamins A,C, and E. Now, I picked up the lightest shade, because I'm pretty light. As you can see, this is a tan looking color! I've seen much lighter foundations and this product is much too dark for me.

At the top of my hand, you can see the product. It's yellow toned, which I don't necessarily like. Also, what I couldn't show you, is the fact that this stuff GUSHES out of the bottle! Yucky!
You may or may not be able to see the product blended in, but I myself can see a yellow tone to the top of my hand. I don't know about you, but I'd rather not look jaundiced when I wear makeup!

VERDICT: Okay, for three dollars, this isn't horrible. I would recommend it for someone who has red undertones and doesn't need tons of coverage. You can also use this as concealer if necessary. However, for me, this is a: NO!

PRODUCT NUMBER THREE: ELF TRANSLUCENT MATTIFYING POWDER- $3.00

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I love understated, simple packaging. This powder is small, lightweight, and the packaging looks high end. It's very sturdy, too, which is good if you're a klutz like I am.
Now, the product looks like a blush in the picture (stupid webcam!), but it's actually a lighter tan color in person. I really like the sponge that comes with it too, which is quite surprising.

VERDICT: For someone who doesn't need to use powder on a daily basis, this was a good buy for me. It's truly translucent and keeps my makeup looking flawless and keeps it from sliding. This is a: YES!

PRODUCT THREE: ELF BUILD YOUR OWN QUAD: $5.00

Sorry about the shadow! The elf quad is a build your own. The case is one dollar, and each pan of shadow is a dollar. This was originally my mother's, and I helped her create a neutral eye quad.

As you can tell, the bottom right color has hit pan! I'd tell you the names of the colors, but they don't have individual labeling -sigh-. One thing I don't like about these is that they get SUPER gritty after a few uses and  have major fall out.

These are incredibly pigmented! This is just the shadows and NO primer!

VERDICT: For someone like the majority of you guys, this would not be the best use of $5. However, for someone with little to no makeup, this would be a great investment. I suppose this would be a: MAYBE!
